1. Your agreement with MPS
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of anotherbill.com and its expense-sharing features (the “Service”). AnotherBill is a product created and operated by MyProblemSolved LLC (“MPS,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), located in North Carolina, USA. These Terms are an agreement between you and MPS.
When signing up, you must check the agreement box to accept these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy. We record the date and document versions associated with that agreement. By completing signup, or otherwise using the Service after these Terms have been presented to you, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not create an account or continue using the Service. If you use it for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. Acknowledging that policy is not consent to unrelated marketing or a waiver of your privacy rights.
2. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter this agreement. Provide an accurate email address and account information, complete required email verification, and keep your login credentials secure. A display name must not impersonate someone or mislead other participants.
You are responsible for your use of the account and for taking reasonable steps to prevent unauthorized access. Tell us promptly at legal@myproblemsolved.com if you believe your account has been compromised. Do not share passwords or use another person’s account without permission.
3. What AnotherBill does
AnotherBill helps users organize groups, enter expenses, allocate shares, review balances, and record payments made outside the Service. It supports the features and permissions available in the app at the time you use it. Some capabilities may be limited or change as the product develops.
AnotherBill does not send, receive, hold, or transfer money. It is not a bank, payment processor, lender, debt collector, credit-reporting service, or escrow provider. Recording a payment or reversal changes the app’s records; it does not initiate, verify, cancel, or refund an actual payment.
We do not provide legal, tax, accounting, investment, or other professional advice. Do not rely on AnotherBill as your sole record for tax filings, business accounts, or legally significant transactions.
4. Expenses, balances, and disagreements
Users supply the underlying records. You are responsible for checking amounts, currencies, dates, participants, split choices, exchange rates, and payment details before relying on a balance or paying someone. Exchange rates entered or confirmed in the app are not a promise of current market rates or rates offered by a payment provider.
An entry or calculated balance does not by itself establish that another person agreed to an expense, prove a legally enforceable debt, or settle a dispute. These Terms do not create, forgive, or change any separate agreement between participants. Any actual obligation depends on your agreements and applicable law.
Resolve disputed expenses and payments directly with the other participants. MPS is not a party to those arrangements and does not guarantee collection or repayment. We may help with technical issues, but we do not arbitrate who owes what. Use editing or reversal features accurately; corrections may retain a history.
5. Groups, invitations, and other people’s information
Group records are shared with members who have access, including later members. Owners and administrators can manage membership and invitations within the app’s permissions. Removing a participant or closing an account does not automatically remove past expenses, payments, or balances.
Only add information about others when you have a lawful basis and a legitimate shared-expense purpose. Explain the shared nature of the records where appropriate, respect privacy and correction requests, and avoid unnecessary sensitive information. A placeholder name does not create an account for that person or make them a party to these Terms.
Send invitations and share join links only with intended participants. Do not use invitation features for spam, harassment, or discovering accounts in bulk. You are responsible for considering who can see information before adding it to a group.
6. Acceptable use
Use the Service lawfully and for its intended purpose. You must not:
- Enter knowingly false or fraudulent records, impersonate someone, threaten or harass people, or use the Service to coerce payment.
- Post unlawful content or information that infringes intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
- Attempt unauthorized access, bypass permissions or rate limits, probe other users’ private information, or distribute malicious code.
- Scrape private data, misuse automation, overload or disrupt the Service, or interfere with other users’ access.
- Use AnotherBill for fraud, money laundering, or other illegal activity, or misrepresent it as a payment or debt-enforcement service.
Report suspected security problems privately to legal@myproblemsolved.com. Do not access or disclose another person’s data to demonstrate a problem.
7. Your content and our intellectual property
You retain any rights you have in the information you submit. You grant MPS a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process, and display that information only as needed to operate, secure, maintain, and support the Service, including making shared records available to authorized group members. We may allow our operational providers to perform those functions on our behalf. This license lasts while the information is retained for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy; it does not give us ownership of your content.
MPS and its licensors retain rights in AnotherBill’s software, branding, design, and other service materials. Subject to these Terms, you may use the Service for its intended purpose. No other intellectual-property rights are transferred. Third-party open-source components remain subject to their own licenses.
8. Availability, changes, and fees
The current Service is free to use. We will disclose any future paid offering and obtain your agreement to applicable charges before charging you. These Terms do not authorize automatic charges or a subscription.
We may update, limit, or discontinue features and may experience outages, errors, or data loss. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or a particular support response time. Where reasonably practicable, we will provide advance notice of a material discontinuation and an opportunity to obtain your records. Keep independent copies of information that matters to you.
9. External services
Any bank, payment app, or other service you use to pay another participant operates under its own terms and privacy practices. A payment-method label in AnotherBill is a record of your selection, not an integration, endorsement, or confirmation that funds arrived. MPS is not responsible for an external provider’s fees, transfers, refunds, or availability. Review that provider’s terms before using it.
10. Suspension and ending your account
You may stop using the Service at any time and request account closure at legal@myproblemsolved.com. Our Privacy Policy’s retention section explains deletion and the treatment of shared records.
We may restrict content, suspend access, or close an account when reasonably necessary to address a breach of these Terms, a security threat, unlawful conduct, a legal obligation, or discontinuation of the Service. When appropriate and lawful, we will explain the reason and allow you to respond; urgent security or legal concerns may require immediate action. You can ask us to review a restriction by emailing legal@myproblemsolved.com.
Ending your account does not settle balances or release obligations between participants. Provisions concerning existing disputes, intellectual property, retained content, warranty limitations, liability, and general legal terms continue to apply to the extent relevant after termination.
11. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” MPS disclaims warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, noninfringement, and any guarantee that records will be accurate, the Service will meet your needs, or access will be uninterrupted or error-free.
These disclaimers do not exclude warranties, consumer guarantees, or other rights that the law does not allow us to exclude.
12. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MPS will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits, arising from the Service or these Terms. MPS’s total liability for claims arising from the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid MPS for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
These limits do not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. They do not remove mandatory consumer remedies. Where local law does not permit a particular exclusion or limit, that part does not apply to you.
13. Governing law and disputes
North Carolina law and applicable United States federal law govern these Terms, without applying conflict-of-law rules, except that mandatory protections under the laws of your place of residence remain available to you.
If a problem arises, you can contact legal@myproblemsolved.com to seek an informal resolution. Doing so is not a prerequisite to exercising legal rights and does not shorten a legal deadline. Subject to mandatory law, disputes may be brought in a state or federal court with jurisdiction in North Carolina. If consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim in your home courts, that right is preserved.
These Terms do not require binding arbitration or waive class-action rights or the right to use an eligible small-claims court.
14. Updates to these Terms
We may update these Terms and will post the new version with an updated date at this URL. For material changes, we will give reasonable advance notice through the Service or an account email, except where a legal or urgent security need requires a faster change. We will seek affirmative agreement when required by law.
Changes apply prospectively from the stated effective date. Continuing to use the Service after that date and the applicable notice constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and contact us to request your information or close your account.
15. General terms and contact
These Terms are the complete agreement about your use of the Service, except for any additional terms you expressly accept for a particular feature. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms do not create a partnership, agency, or rights for third-party beneficiaries.
You may not transfer your account or these Terms without our consent. MPS may transfer its rights and obligations as part of a merger, reorganization, or sale of the Service, subject to applicable law and without reducing your mandatory rights.
